Gertraud "Helga" Walter

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Helga on March 22, 2025, at the age of 84. Helga was a cherished member of our family, a devoted friend, and a woman whose kindness, wisdom, and grace left a lasting impact on all who knew her.

PreDeceased by her mother Vally Knurr and father Emil Bernhard Walter, she had no surviving immediate family, she built a family of her own through deep and enduring friendships and bonds. She will forever be remembered for her fierce honesty, unwavering loyalty, and the way she made everyone feel at home. She spoke her mind with heart, never with judgment, and expressed her love through the warmth of her kitchen—where homemade dishes brought comfort, laughter, and people together. Her recipes, like her spirit, live on in the lives she touched.

Born on January 9, 1941, in Hof, Germany, Helga lived a life rich in love, laughter, and service to others. She was known for her infectious smile, her caring nature, and her ability to put anyone at ease with her kind words. Whether she was styling someone's hair, getting lost in a good book, or enjoying her favorite TV show with a beverage in hand, Helga had a way of making the world feel like a brighter, warmer place.

She will be deeply missed but forever remembered, through all of us shall she live vicariously.
