Gertrude Trudy Williams

Funeral services will be held at 2 pm on Friday, January 20, 2012, at Grove Hill Funeral Home’s Chapel with Mitchell Wilburn officiating. Burial will follow in Grove Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 6 pm to 8 pm at the funeral home.

Trudy was born on April 20, 1916, in Dallas, to the late Gilder L. and Ruth (Davis) Payne.

She and her husband built their home in Casa Linda in 1940. She worked in the local PTA Associations and served as President of the Dallas City Council PTA Associations from 1975-1976. She co-chaired the Helping Hearts Ministry of the Highland Oaks Church of Christ for many years.

Trudy was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Kincaid Williams; and two sisters.

Those left to cherish her memories include three sons: Bob Williams of Quitman, Mike Williams and wife Judy of Dallas, and Doug Williams and wife Donna of Dallas; daughter, Gail Patton and husband Bob of Quitman; nine grandchildren; nine (soon to be ten) great grandchildren; sister, Mary Leta Taylor; and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Helping Hearts Ministry of the Highland Oaks Church of Christ, Dallas.
