

Gladyne Parris, 92, of Grand Prairie passed away on Tuesday, December 22, 2015, she will be greatly missed. Gladyne was born in Commerce, Texas on April 9, 1923 to William Edward and Lula Mae (Guthrie) Berry where she attended and graduated from Commerce High School. She married Robert Parris. She worked at the Texas Book Bindery for 15 years working as a binder and inspector. She was a long time member of Arcadia Park United Methodist Church in Dallas. Gladyne enjoyed her family, and was always involved. She hosted holidays at her house, and there always seemed to be fresh Chicken Stew and cornbread ready. She enjoyed spending time tending to, and admiring her flower and vegetable garden. She especially loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Gladyne is survived by her children; Robert “Bobby” Parris and his wife Martha, from Platteville, Alabama, Gary Parris and his wife Sharon of Midlothian, and Kay Jenkins and her husband Tom of Grand Prairie, nine grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert I. Parris, one brother, and three sisters and one grandson, John Wesley Parris. A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 27, 2015 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at Laurel Land Funeral Chapel at 6000 South R. L. Thornton Freeway in Dallas Texas. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 28, 2005 at 10:00am at Lauren Land Funeral Chapel with interment to follow immediately afterward at Laurel Land Memorial Park.
