

Mrs. Gladys Choice was born on June 29, 1926, in Elysian Fields, Texas, the eldest of three children to the parentage of Isaac Cooper and Naomi Anderson. She passed away peacefully to be with the Lord Saturday evening, April 25, 2020. She was educated in Dallas public schools and graduated from Lincoln High School.
She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She was a member of Providence Missionary Baptist Church for many years under the leadership of the late Reverend Johnnie Eades. In her later years, she enjoyed attending Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship under the leadership of Dr. Tony Evans.
Mrs. Choice retired from Texas Power and Light in 1987 to serve as a full-time caregiver to her beloved husband, A.Z. Choice. A.Z. and Gladys Choice were married for forty-four years and owned several businesses together, including cafes in South Dallas and taxicabs. Mrs. Choice was known for her sweet demeanor and delicious home cooking, in particular, her lemon meringue and sweet potato pies. She enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren and gardening.
Mrs. Choice was preceded in death by her husband, A.Z. Choice; her father, Isaac Cooper; her mother, Naomi Anderson; her brother, Thomas Cooper; her son, Robert Gene Myers, and her granddaughter, Yolanda Myers. She leaves to cherish her memory; her sister, Margie Nealy; son, Jessie Myers; daughters Leslie Choice and Zelda Freeman (Eddie); daughter in law; Carolyn Myers, grandchildren, Robert Myers, Erica Myers, Kevin Myers, Wendy Logan, Jayme McLin, Kendrick Morgan, Dietra Morgan, Tomeka Johnson, Kathryn Freeman, Eddie “Trey” Freeman III (Elizabeth), and Candace Freeman; a host of great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; in addition to numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
