Glenna Joyce Wright Martin Bowles, 86 of Dallas, Texas passed away on January 4, 2022. Glenna was born in Overton, Texas on March 26, 1935 to Neil Wright and Melissa Lou Marler Wright. In 1940 the family moved to Nacogdoches, Texas where she made her fondest memories. In 1947 the family moved to Dallas, Texas where she graduated from Adamson High School in 1953. She never lost her love for Nacogdoches and often went back to visit.
Glenna worked as a medical secretary from 1953 to 1968 when she married James A. Martin, M.D. who preceded her in death in 1988. Over the years, she volunteered tirelessly for the Medical Center Women's Auxilliary. In 1993 she married William F. Bowles who preceded her in death in 2017.
We will remember Glenna as having been kind, funny, compassionate and generous to a fault - not only in material possessions, but also with her time and her home. She was a gracious hostess and loved opening her home to many gatherings. She doted on her daughter and grandsons and they were her passion. She lived a wonderful, blessed life full of love that she lavished on her family and friends. She will be greatly missed.
Glenna is survived by one daughter, Shanan Flynn-Ghaffar; three grandsons, Maxwell Campbell, Nicholis Wagner and Philip Wagner; and four great-grandchildren, Alyssa Wagner, Levi Wagner, Amelia Wagner and Henry Wagner.
A graveside service for Glenna will be held Saturday, January 15, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 7405 West Northwest Highway, Dallas, TX 75225.
