Among the loved ones he leaves are his daughter Bari Glover Rothschild, her husband Jonathan, and their son Dempsey Joseph Rothschild. He is also survived by his son Joshua and Joshua’s soon-to-be wife, Lindsay Bartlett, along with a number of very close friends and relations.
Gordon was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma, the son of Carl and Lois. The family settled in Denison, Texas where he attended high school at Denison High. After graduating, he attended Texas A&M University. From 1956 to 1960, he served in the US Navy, after which he returned to Texas A&M to earn his BS in Electrical Engineering.
He soon gained employment in Dallas designing circuit boards. In the late 1970s, Gordon met his wife Barbara Straus Glover while both were employed at Sperry Univac. They were married in 1979 at Temple Emanuel. Tragically, Barbara was diagnosed with cancer in her early 40s and passed away in 1998.
Gordon was an avid golfer and gardener, and he was fervently patriotic. However, his true pride and passion were always his children, Bari and Joshua.
A Memorial Service celebrating his life will be held at Sparkman Hillcrest Funeral Chapel in Dallas, TX on Wednesday, September 30, at 12:00pm.
