He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Corine Miller; son, Hampton Jr. and his wife Karen of Virginia Beach, VA; son Doug and his wife Sheri of Ft. Worth, TX; and daughter Elizabeth and husband Martin of Cheneyville, LA. He and Corine have six grandchildren: Lauren, Meredith, Cara, Bennett, Alexander, and William.
Hampton was born on April 11, 1927 in Milwaukee, WI. In high school, he was the first person in Wisconsin to run a sub two-minute half mile and after graduation was a proud World War II Navy veteran. Hampton then attended the University of Wisconsin graduating in 1950 under the tutelage of Frank Lloyd Wright with a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering.
After retiring from an illustrious 40 year career in the insurance industry, Hampton enjoyed his daily trips to White Rock Lake and watching sports. He will always be remembered for his charming wit, passion for Badger football, and unwavering commitment to his wife and children.
