Maurine Newell (Hazel Maurine Bishop Newell) was born November 6, 1922 in Pecan Gap, Texas and passed away November 4, 2011 in Smyrna, Tennessee. She was a longtime member at the Highland Oaks Church of Christ in Dallas, Texas. Maurine was preceded in death by her husband Emory T. Newell; daughters, Onita Doss and Denise Huskey; and son, Donnie Lee Newell. She is survived by one son, Ricky Newell and his wife Nancy of Dallas, Texas; grandchildren, Brian Doss, Diana Benson, Jason Newell, Rocky Newell, Brandon Joe, Melissa Joe, Kenny Joe and Gabriel Tomlinson; 14 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and a host of nieces and nephews. A Funeral Serivce will be Wednesday, November 9, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service at the Chapel of Sparkman/Crane Funeral Homein Dallas, Texas, with Mr. Vincent Doan, officiating. Interment at Rosemound Cemetery in Commerce, Texas. Hazel's grandsons will serve as the pallbearers.
