Hector Martinez, age 79, passed away on September 25, 2022 in Dallas, Texas. He was born on January 9, 1943 in Nueva Rosita, Coahuila, Mexico to his parents, Jesus Martinez and Rafaela de Luna. Hector was raised in Nueva Rosita, Coahuila. He married Florentina Reyes in 1969, and the couple went on to have five children. Hector and his family immigrated to Dallas, Texas in 1978. Hector made a career as a welder for First Company for more than 13 years.
In his spare time, Hector enjoyed playing and coaching baseball. He was happiest spending time with his family and watching all his grandkids play sports. Hector's faith was important to him. He loved singing praises to God and enjoyed volunteering at his church home.
His family and friends will always remember him as a man with a wonderful sense of humor who loved to joke around and laugh. Visiting with friends and family filled him with joy. Hector loved sports, especially watching the Texas Rangers and the Dallas Cowboys. He loved music and enjoyed dancing. Most of all, he will be remembered as a person strong in the Lord - his favorite verse was Psalm 23.
He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Florentina; daughters, Alma, Maria, and Marcela; sons, Hector and Jesus; his three son-in-laws, Mario, Rigoberto, and Augustine; his daughter-in-laws, Vitia and Jarriza; 16 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren.

En su tiempo libre, a Héctor le gustaba jugar y entrenar béisbol. Su felicidad fue el compartir tiempo con su familial y ver a todos sus nietos practicar y jugar deportes. La fe de Héctor fue lo más importante para él. Le encantaba cantar alabanzas a Dios. Disfrutaba ser voluntario en su iglesia y compartir a Cristo en la visitación.
Su familia y amigos siempre lo recordarán como un hombre con un maravilloso sentido de humor al que le encantaba bromear y reír. Visitar a amigos y familiares lo llenaba de alegría. A Héctor le encantaban los deportes, especialmente ver a los Texas Rangers y los Dallas Cowboys. Amaba la música y disfrutaba bailar. Mas que todo será recordado como una persona fuerte en el Señor Jesucristo: su versículo favorito era el Salmo 23.
Le sobreviven su amada esposa durante 53 años, Florentina; hijas, Alma, María y Marcela; hijos, Héctor y Jesús; sus tres yernos, Mario, Rigoberto y Augustíne; sus nueras, Vitia y Jarriza; 16 nietos y 6 bisnietos.
