

Helen Frances Collier, 85, passed away on Sunday, October 7, 2018 in Lewisville, Texas. She was born July 30, 1933 in Houston, Texas to Joe and Ethel Ruth. Helen was a member of Keystone Church in Mesquite and an active member of her Bible Study Group and sang in the choir. She was a fantastic wife and mother and was greatly loved by all who knew her. She did a lot of volunteer work for the school system, serving on the PTA, working as room mother, working with fundraisers for new books and chaperoning school trips. She babysat for numerous children throughout the years and was always willing to give advice wherever it was needed, she really became "everyone's mom." Her children's friends were known to come to her for advice from anything to dating, problems with their own parents and childrearing. She was always there to lend an ear and some sound advice for them. She was a good friend and neighbor living in the Mesquite community for 60 years. Helen is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, George "Hamp" Henry Collier; sons, David Collier and George Hampton Collier, Jr.; siblings, Andrew Ruth, J.W. Ruth and Wanda Ruth and parents. She is survived by her daughter, Donna Ruth Foitek and husband, Jerry; grandchildren, Brittney Ruggeberg and husband, Eric and Jacob Foitek; great-grandchildren, Caroline and Audrey Ruggeberg and sister, Edna Young. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 10 from 6-8 pm at Grove Hill Funeral Home. Services will be Thursday, October 11 at 2pm at Grove Hill Funeral Home Chapel with Interment to follow at Grove Hill Memorial Park.
