

Helen Juanita “Neat” Walls was born June 22, 1940 in Elysian Fields, Texas to the late Jimmie and Sammie Walls. She attended George Washington Carver High school where she excelled in academics and basketball subsequently graduating in 1958 as class valedictorian. She attended North Texas State University for 2 years. In 1960 she was married to William Pace of Jacksonville, Georgia and began the life of an Army wife.
Her Christian life began on the 2nd Sunday of August in 1948 when she was baptized at Elysian Fields Baptist Church. After the Walls family moved to Garland, she attended Mt. Hebron Baptist Church. That’s when it was the little red brick building on Avenue D. After returning to Garland in 1986, she once again started serving at the church in other various roles. However, her love was serving on the usher board.
She also had a long professional career beginning with the humble beginnings of the Pink Motel followed by Collins Radio, The White House Department Store and concluding at Target for 20 plus years as an office accountant. Neat did all of this while being a mother, wife and grandmother.
She was proceeded in death by her parents Jimmie and Sammie, sister Herma”Tiny” Wilson and brother McCurey “JoeBoy” Walls.
Her memories will be cherished by her husband William Pace, son Derwin Bernard Pace, daughter Pamela Pace-Crockett and son in-law Alexis Duane Crockett. Childhood memories will be held close and cherished by brothers Walter Avon Walls and Thomas Charles “TC” Walls(Gertrude). As sisters, their love will be remembered by Dorothy”Dot” Douglas, Edna “Ed” Ball(JC), Frances Walls, Ruby Jean Jackson(Willie B) and Sister in Law Queen Esther Lester(Jacksonville Ga), Uncle Willie James Stafford says he will always be owed a Butterroll by Neat to stir his memories. Jeron “Jay” Pace, Arielle “Ms. Arrie”Pace and Brittney Kelly will have fond memories to dwell on as her grandkids, as well as four great grandchildren. Additionally, she leaves a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends to carry her memories.
