Herbert Epstein, 87, of Dallas, TX passed away peacefully in his home on the morning of October 7, 2015 in the presence of his loving family. Herb was born in Detroit, MI on March 9, 1928 and married Beverly Schechet on October 16, 1949. He worked in the industrial uniform rental business in Detroit until he moved to Atlanta, GA in 1956 to start his own business, Dixie Coverall. After 10 years in Atlanta, the family moved to Dallas where he ultimately began Republic Uniform Supply in 1967. He was fortunate to be able to retire in 1982 and enjoy spending his time with his family. He is survived by his devoted wife of 66 years, Beverly, his brother Irwin (Sydrena) Epstein of Bloomfield Hills, MI, his children Linda Biderman of Austin, Janice Leventhal of Richardson, Bruce Epstein of Evergreen, CO, and Mark (Jane) Epstein of Albuquerque, NM. He is also survived by his grandchildren Andrea (Matt) Silverman, Zach Biderman, Keith (Sivya) Leventhal, Julie Leventhal, Gavin Epstein, and Jeremy Epstein and greatgrandchildren Elliot Leventhal, and Alexa and Samantha Silverman. Graveside service will be held at Sparkman-Hillcrest on Thursday, October 8 at 11:30 a.m. with Rabbi Asher Knight officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a hospice service of your choice.
