Hortensia Ruiz Retta

Hortensia worked in management and sales for Neiman Marcus for over 30 years until her retirement in December 1993.

She was a member of St. Ann’s Alumni and Friends of Little Mexico. She was also a member of the Cumberland Hill School Alumni. She had a passion for dancing and enjoyed watching The Price Is Right on television.

Hortensia was preceded in death by her parents, Susanna Garcia, David Ruiz, siblings, Marcelino, David, Roy, Tony, Inez Hernandez and Rosemary Perez.

Hortensia is survived by her children; Cynthia (Roy) Cortez, Mario (Lisa) Retta and Tony (Aurora) Retta and grandchildren; Pablo Martinez, Olivia Salas, Lisa Klonek, Gabriel Cortez and Ethan Cortez, Tony Retta and Manuel Retta, Sabrina Gray, Marcie Moreno, Craig Hestand, Antoine Banks, Monica Retta, Mario Retta, Jr., Tori Dorey, Luke Retta, 26 - great grand-children, 2 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings, sisters Susan Chavez and Mary Hernandez, and brother Joe Valdez. Hortensia is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
