Obituary of Ms. Ida Marie (Nutson) Henry
Ms. Ida Marie(Nutson) Henry was born on June 4, 1949 at home in Rusk, Texas. Her parents were Johnnie William and Ola Mae Nutson. Ida was raised in Rusk, then Dallas Texas. She was raised with four siblings; three younger sisters, Alice Wilson, Peggy Hobbs and Wanda Alexander and one younger brother, Johnny Nutson. She graduated from Dallas Madison High School in 1967. On October 26, 1968 Ida exchanged wedding vows with Walter E. Henry Sr. at the Mount Olive Lutheran Church of Dallas, Texas. Ida was blessed with four children, three sons, Johnny Nutson, Walter Henry and Emanuel Henry, and one daughter, Tamika Henry. She was also blessed with five grandchildren, Kenyatta Henry, Jonshea Nutson, Shanell Henry, Malcolm Henry and Curtis Mays. Her primary occupation was working on the Yellow Pages Directory. She was employed for nearly 30 years by Southwestern Bell and AT&T. Her favorite pursuits were baking, cooking, gardening, sewing and decorating. She was content to enjoy her hobbies alone but was also willing to share her interests with others. Ida was also an avid tennis fan, seldom missing matches with her favorite players. When Ida finally retired in 2006, she found pleasure in family, friends and her hobbies. Ida passed away on September 27, 2022 at her home in Lancaster, Texas. She is survived by her siblings, her children, grandchildren, multiple nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Services were held at Laurel Land Memorial Chapel. Ida was laid to rest in Laurel Land Memorial Park in Dallas, Texas. Ida was always able to provide amusing repartee to her friends and acquaintances, offering a seemingly endless supply of quips, anecdotes, jokes and stories. She enjoyed her life and the experience of living it. This is how everyone will remember Ms. Ida Marie(Nutson) Henry. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at for the Henry family.
