The memory of Issa will always be present in our hearts. We will always remember his laughter, his joy of life, his love for family and friends.

Issa, Nabil Azzam and I called ourselves the 3 Musketeers.  Our lifelong friendship began as teenagers at Aleppo College in Syria. The 3 of us won great battles on our separate professional fronts and succeeded to keep each other proud. We remained in contact for over 60 years, having our final meeting in 2019 in Texas, where we recreated a favorite photo.  I have always cherished the times we shared and I hope to preserve them in my memory forever.  Until we meet again, Issa.

Dear Rose,  Dear cousins, Richard, Ramsey and Nadia, Uncle Issa was a proactive and loving man who adored both his nuclear and his extended families. He went out of his way to share his love and showed everyone that he cared.  He usually had something relevant to say, often with lots of humor.  We share your loss and grief, but he will always be warmly remembered by those who knew and loved him. Rest in peace dear uncle! Amber

We remember when we moved to Dallas our first meal, outside the family, was at the Kamar’s residence in Garland.  We hadn’t met yet.
In remembering Issa, we remember his infectious kind smile and his good friendly nature. We feel your loss, and for sure everyone who knew him feels the loss of his affection.

The Boarding department of Aleppo College, Aleppo, Syria, brought Issa Kamar, Ramzi Eliya and Nabil Azzam to meet and to forge a friendship that lasted a life time. We were known then as the Three Musketeers. Few Years later, Ramzi and Nabil bid Issa a farewell to go to Texas. Nabil bid Ramzi Farewell to go to Mosco and Nabil landed in Richmond Virginia. Many years passed and we met again in Texas during Aleppo College Reunion, were we had the honor to introduce our spouses, Rose Kamar, Salwa Eliya and Rita Azzam. Few years later the Three Musketeers met in Florida and spent few days remembering the good old times. Luck will smile at us again, when the Eliya Family gathered in Texas for a wedding. Nabil was not invited but took the first flight out to Texas and the Three Musketeers met again, but unfortunately, this time in a Rehab Center, where Issa was recovering. The visit lasted an hour, but the love and concern said it all.  Good by my dear friend. The Three Musketeers are two now, but you will always be with us.  May God look at your face and say welcome home.my son.

You will be sorely missed, Khalo Issa خالو عيسى, with your Big Texan, jovial laugh and your Falastini فلسطيني big heart. You visited us when I was a little boy in Jerusalem, about sixty years ago, and you became our representation of what an American must be like. Then, decades after most of us emigrated to the US, your sense of humor and— especially— your superb cuisine, came to be a beautiful reminder of the Palestine of our juvenile memories. Your memory will stay with us through Rose and your children; every time our extended family gets together; and every time we share one of Teta ( Grandma) Nazira’s recipes. I trust you’ve joined her in a better place.

Thirty-four years ago, I had the privilege to marry into the Kamar family and meet my Father-in-law, Issa Kamar, whom I affectionately refer to as Sido. I want to thank him for the loving example he has set as the patriarch of this family. The way he generously gave of himself to each and every member of his family showed us all how love is truly the glue that binds a family together forever.

And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity. (Colossians 3:14 NIV)

We are going to miss this beautiful and smiling face that always seems ready to say something funny or naughty. We love you Uncle Issa.

فقدناك  يا احن خال كنت لنا الصديق المحب والمخلص.
كنت أشعر من خلال كلامك مدى حبك وحرصك  علينا.

I met Issa when I was still a teenager, when he started courting my sister. The affection with which he always treated her and the whole family made me suppose that he would make her very happy. I was not wrong, he was always a loving husband and an excellent father. He welcomed my parents into his home as if they were his parents.
I will always remember him as someone very important in our lives.
Dear Rose and family, I would have liked to join you in these difficult times, receive all our love.


I will always remember Issa with his eternal smile, his big heart, his joie de vivre, the love that his gaze conveyed and the affection with which he always treated his family and friends.

Through the years you were always part of our many beautiful gatherings and celebrations. A big brother a leader and a guide . We loved you dearly and while it is difficult to let go, we  say our last farewell and Rest In Peace  . We will always cherish the lovely memories 

My Uncle Issa was always light and funny. We would visit with my cousins in Texas, and they came to California too. I remember watching "slides with the family. And Califlower Turnover!! He will be missed. My deepest sympathy for all the Kamar family❤

In remembering Issa, the thing that stands out the most in my memory is his warm face, kind eyes, and gentle demeanor.  I grew up as playmates with Nadia and Ramsey, and Issa always had a smile on his face for us.  He was always patient, always gracious.  It saddens me deeply to hear of his loss.  I wish the Kamar family some respite during this difficult time.  May he rest in peace.

I am so sorry for your loss. It has been more than 2 decades since high school, back when Ramsey and I would watch X-Files on Friday nights, and then  invade the kitchen to cook Pillsbury chocolate chip cookies at your home. I still remember Issa was such a gentle, sweet, loving man.  I always enjoyed coming over, and getting to spend time with him, and I enjoyed finding him cooking. He had such skill with food. For example, one night, he was the first person I met (and only person, for that matter) who used SPAM, and he taught me that SPAM, when cooked correctly as part of the right dish, could actually taste fantastic! Haha.

I wish I could be there in person with you, the Kamar family, to celebrate his life. I send my warmest condolences.
