

Jack Irwin Pilon, 84 of Dallas TX, passed away Wednesday, August 22, 2012 after a lengthy battle with cancer and numerous strokes. He put up a long hard fight right up until his very last breath. Jack was born July 11, 1928 in Cleburne, Texas and educated in Longview, Texas. He graduated from The University of Texas at Austin and from a graduate banking program at the University of Colorado at Boulder, Colorado. A banking career began in 1947 as a runner at a bank in Longview. He later was an Assistant National Bank Examiner and worked with several governmental agencies during the banking crisis in the mid 1980s after retiring from the Republic Bank system. Jack was Chief Executive Officer of several banks covering a 25 year span of his 50 year banking career. Those banks included First National Bank & Republic Bank of Brownwood, Texas, First National Bank, Weatherford, Texas, Pan American National Bank and Central National Bank, Majestic Savings Assn., Dallas, Texas, and First Bank in Saginaw, Texas. Other banking relationships were with the First National Bank of Midland, Eastland National Bank, Longview National Bank, and banks in Coleman, Brady, Coppell, Rowlett, Meridian, Cransfills Gap, Crandall and San Angelo, Texas. Jack served his country during the Korean War as a Staff Sergeant in the Untied States Army. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Dallas and served in various offices in the Presbyterian Church in other cities. Active in community affairs, he served as President of the Texas State Chamber of Commerce, West Texas Chamber of Commerce, Brownwood Chamber of Commerce and Weatherford Chamber of Commerce as well as many civic and community organizations. Jack was a devoted and beloved husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He leaves behind his wife of over 51 years, Jan Pilon, his daughter, Cathy Terry, his granddaughter, Ricque Honeycutt, as well as his three great grandchildren, Cayden, Callye and Chayni Honeycutt. He was preceded in death by his mother, father and sisters. In lieu of flowers please send donations to the American Red Cross or to the American Cancer Society in his name.
