Jack Leroy Watson was born March 23, 1938 in Dallas to J.L. and Myrtle Watson and left this earthly home surround by family on September 6, 2019 in Forney. He was a Lieutenant with Dallas County Sherriff’s Department for over 38 years. Jack served the county with pride and dedication even after he retired. He was married to his adoring wife, Nancy for 63 years and the couple had four beautiful children together. He attended Metropolitan Bible church for over 50 years as dutiful parishioner, and filling several roles while there. The last 15 years he has attended First Baptist Church of Forney with the same devotion for the Lord, he enjoyed helping the church out in several different capacities. In staying true to giving back to his community, Jack enjoyed spending time at Hidden Acres Retreat Center even serving on their Board. He was a stand up individual, caring, and his calm demeanor were some of the traits that will be missed so much by so many.
Jack is preceded in death by his parents, J.L. and Myrtle Watson.
He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Watson; children, Darrell Watson and wife Paula, Kenneth Watson and wife Regina, Larry Watson, Kimberly Herndon and husband Roy, and not to be forgotten their daughter by choice Kathy Jenkins and husband David; eight grandchildren; 5 great- grandchildren; brother, Jerry Watson and wife Lisa; along with nieces and nephews, and an abundance of extended family members.
