

James Lee (Jim) Ferrell, a sweet soul beloved by everyone who crossed his path, was born on September 19, 1950 in Memphis, Tennessee and died on November 21, 2015 in Dallas, Texas after courageously battling a long illness.
Jim is survived by loving family, his daughter Mary Elizabeth Lynch, three grandchildren: Charles Lynch, Tracy Lynch and Christina Lynch and six great-granddaughters; sister Carol Anne Burtchaell and brother William Franklin Ferrell; aunt Shirley McHughes Boldt, and uncles Jack, Parnell, and Charles Ferrell; nieces Karen Sue Taylor and her son Clay, and Dawn Elizabeth Chavez and her daughter Cristal.
Predeceased are his parents Hubert Afton Ferrell and Mary Elizabeth McHughes Ferrell, brother Lawrence Afton Ferrell and nephew David Lawrence Haggard.
His decade’s long association with Prego Pasta House enriched his life through the close relationship and love and support of the Barraco family. His warm and outgoing personality resulted in close friendship with hundreds of Prego's patrons. Many of these patrons maintained close contact and loved and supported him throughout his long illness.
Jim was a veteran of the United States Army. He was an active participant in the Democratic Party.
A Funeral Service will be a 12:00 noon on Friday, November 27, 2015 at Sparkman/Hillcrest Northwest Chapel, 7405 W. Northwest Hwy., Dallas, TX 75225. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donation may be made to Sisters of the Poor Clares, 1310 Dellwood Avenue Memphis, Tennessee 38127 or the charity of your choice.
