

Jane L. DeMarco, age 88, passed away on December 11, 2014, in Dallas, TX. Jane was born on August 31, 1926 in Hazleton, PA to Edwin and Martha Smith. She moved to Pine Grove, PA in 1936 and graduated from Pine Grove High School in 1944 where she was a cheerleader. Jane and her husband of 62 years, Carlo, met in 1944 while attending Penn State University. She received a Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts in 1948. She moved to Philadelphia in 1949 and became an Executive Assistant at Eastern Mortgage Service Company. She married Carlo on August 23, 1952.
They moved to Massachusetts in 1954. In 1968, they moved to Dallas, TX. She taught kindergarten for many years at Preston Royal Preschool. Jane also worked with many close friends at the Dallas Convention Center and Visitors Bureau. She was a member of King of Glory Lutheran church for 46 years where she served on the altar guild. Her love for the game of bridge kept her very active in bridge clubs throughout her life. This included her founding the First Friday Bridge Club at Royal Oaks Country Club. Some of the clubs she belonged to include the Melshire Women’s Club, Melshire Women’s Birthday Club, Tri-City Book Club, and Park Cities Bridge Club. She served as Judge of Elections for her North Dallas district for many years. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and was an inspiration to all around her.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Alma Yeager. Jane is survived by her husband Carlo, her 4 children and spouses: Nancy & Steve Salmon, Drs. Daniel DeMarco & Cara East, Janice & Rick Ehrhart, Lynda & Carlos Aguayo and her 5 Grandchildren: Katie & Jon Ehrhart, Michael DeMarco, Connor & Casey McGuire, two sisters: Thelma Kew & Dorothy Diefenderfer, and sister-in-law Jean Jones.
Memorial services will be Monday, December 15, at King of Glory Lutheran Church 6411 LBJ Freeway Dallas, TX 75240 at 11:00 am with Pastor Olin Knudsen presiding. Burial will be private.
