Janet C Hershman

Janet Hershman, October 21, 1934 - May 6, 2026. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Abe "Sonny" Hershman, her parents, Hilda and Emil Corenbleth and her sister Paula Levy. Janet was an extraordinary mother to Michael (Teri) Hershman, Susan (Steve) Zetley, and Laurie (David) Judson; loving grandmother to Julie Judson (David Galstyan), Scott (Vivien) Judson, Corie Zetley, Jennifer Zetley, Margot Hershman (AJ Hillis), Jake Hershman, and Eric Hershman and great-grandmother to Jack and Sonny Judson and Joey Galstyan. Born and raised in Dallas, Janet was a devoted wife of 70 years. She met Sonny on a blind date and together they exemplified a great marriage. Mom was the consummate hostess and took great pride in gathering everyone together. She never wanted anyone to be alone for a holiday and all who came over knew the exact corner of the kitchen to find something delicious baked from scratch. It was her pleasure to know each person's favorite dishes and always made sure we had our turn at getting them. She made everything an occasion and usually enhanced the visit with a special song or poem. Always an eternal optimist, Mom focused on the good in everything and everyone. She made the world better with her sunny disposition and certainly led with great example of kindness and acceptance. Each person in our family had the comfort and security of knowing we were loved by her and it was our honor to be by her side when she passed away peacefully.

A graveside service will be held on Friday, May 8th, at Sparkman Hillcrest at 11 AM.
