Javier Hernandez, affectionately known as “Crazy Javier” since his high‑school days, passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 2, 2026. He was born November 23, 1977 in Dallas Texas to Salome and Adela Hernandez. He was 48 years old. He attended Sunset High School.
Javier lived with a spirit that was impossible to ignore. He was the spark in every gathering, the loudest laugh in the room, and the person who could turn an ordinary moment into a story worth retelling. His energy was big, his presence even bigger, and he carried a brightness that drew people in. His infectious smile would brighten anyone on any gloomy day.
He was an avid fan of football, his favorite team being the Patriots. His favorite pastime was spending time with the family and grilling bratwurst coined “slugnation”. He leaves behind unforgettable family memories. He would take his son, Mark, on various occasions to the park to throw the football back and forth. Aside from spending his time with family, he spent time with his beloved Sofie, his Shih Tzu. If you knew Javier you knew he had Sofie in his arms all the time.
He had a passion for working on and fixing cars. Received his degree in mechanics from Cedar Valley College. Javier wore his heart on his sleeve and was always there to help. He would give the shirt on his back for his loved ones without question.
Javier was a man who wanted nothing more than to be loved, accepted, and understood. He loved others with the same intensity he lived his life: boldly, generously, and without hesitation.
Of all the roles he held in his lifetime, the one he cherished most was being a father. Javier leaves behind his beloved son, Mark Hernandez, who was his pride, his joy, and the person he loved beyond measure.
What is certain is the legacy he leaves behind: memories full of laughter, stories full of color, and a reminder that even the most complicated lives can be filled with love.
He was larger than life, and he will be missed more than words can capture.
