Jeanette Joyce Brown Guiden was born the first of a set of fraternal twins, to the late Deacon Isaiah and Wilhelmina Anderson Brown on June 13, 1946 in Shreveport, LA. She was called from labor to reward while receiving care at Life Care Rehabilitation Facility in Dallas, TX on January 16, 2020.
As the seventh of eight children, Jeanette grew up in a loving home in Shreveport, LA. At the age of 13, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. Her spiritual journey began at Union Springs Baptist Church. After graduating from Union High School, Jeanette attended nursing school in Natchitoches, LA where she received her Practical Nurse Certification and State License.
Jeanette met and married Henry Guiden, Sr. and they moved to Dallas, TX where they added five children to this union. She worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse and a Dental Technician at the VA Hospital until her retirement. She rendered thirty five years of employment with the VA Hospital. Lamb of
God was her first place of worship and later attended Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship Church.
She was an active participant in the Fellowship Silver Star Ministry, Turn Around Outreach Ministry & Single Life Ministry. Jeanette loved people, especially the seniors at the YMCA. When she completed her craft projects, Jeanette would give them to the homebound, the sick and to children. She loved to witness to everyone and her theme was "Are you saved?" until her transition.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents, her late husband Henry Guiden , Sr., three brothers; Roland, Isaac and Matthew, one sister; Christine, and one daughter; Necole.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her children: Annjeanette Guiden, Rebecca Guiden, Henry (Kim) Guiden, Jr., Samuel (April) Guiden, Jr., her sisters; Dorothy Phill, Mozetta Blackmon, Bennette (Benjamin)Rowlette. her grandchildren; Prentiss Waller, Preston Guiden, Precious Latson, Patrick Latson, Darius Guiden, Joseph Guiden, Jeremiah Guiden, Hannah Guiden, Isabella Guiden, Samuel Guiden, Jr., AnaLayah Guiden, Ariana Parnell, Shaqueem Parnell, great grandchildren; Nehemiah Latson, Zion Waller, Zander Waller, Amiyah Waller and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
