

Jennie (Jeanne) Marie Nash was born February 12, 1926 in Corsicana to Thomas P & Elvira E. Hayes and passed away August 3, 2013 in Dallas. Jeanne moved to Dallas June 1942 and took a secretarial course at Sacks Secretarial School. Her first job was First National Bank of Dallas as a runner and Transferred to the transit department after three months. In January of 1943 she went to work for Eighth Service Command in secretarial pool. Jeanne met Thomas O Nash, Jr. in July of 1943. They married two months later in August and moved to Kingsville, TX where Thomas was stationed. In November 1943Thomas was shipped to the South Pacific and Jeanne moved back to Dallas to be with his family until his return. In April 1944 he returned from the South Pacific and the two were stationed in San Diego, CA. While there, she worked for Harry P. Sweet, Esq. After the war was over, they returned to Dallas where Jeanne worked a few odd jobs until her son, Tommy, was born in September 1946. In January 1952 she went to work for Thomson McKinnon and when they closed their Dallas office she went to work for Jake L. Hamon (Independent oil producer) in Nov. 1952. She continued working for the Hamon’s during all the changes in the industry until her retirement in 2002 when Mrs. Hamon sold the company. She had been a loyal, trusted employee and enjoyed working for the Hamon’s all fifty years. She was a faithful member of the Eastridge Park Christian Church, helped Mrs. Carl Anderson for fifteen years in the 4 & 5 yr. old department in Sunday school and helped with the children’s choir during church. Jeanne was devoted to her family and did everything she could to see that they had a comfortable life. Jeanne was also a member of Edwin J Kiest Chapter #959 Order of the Easter Star for 50 years, Lakewood Country Club for 30 years, Fantastic Widows Club Shrine for 10 years and the Double Nickel Club at Eastridge Park Christian Church. She is survived by her son, Thomas O Nash, III; grandson, Evan Thomas Nash and granddaughter, Emily Evelyn Nash. A memorial service will be 10:00 a.m. August 8, 2013 at Eastridge Park Christian Church, 2701 Town East Blvd., Mesquite, TX 75150.
