

Jesse Zuniga Jr, 76, aka Chicago "JZ" of Dallas, Texas. Passed away peacefully on Thursday evening, February 5,2026. Born on March 29,1949 in San Antonio, Tx. The family moved to California then to Grand Rapids, Michigan, where Jz grew up. He was a graduate of Central High School. The Class of 67 and was elected Class President.
Jesse attended UTD and SMU, he was a retired Accountant, employed at Purvis Bearing. Jesse was a loving brother, father, grandfather, and friend. He was a man of strong faith and devoted Catholic whose kindness touched everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his brother Robert Zuniga and sisters: Joanne Zuniga Deboer and Debbie Zuniga Esquibel. Niece and nephew Kimberly Esquibel and Christopher Esquibel, uncles Raymond and Jesse Ochoa, longtime friend Linda Sterlacci and numerous cousins. Jesse's legacy continues through his Son, Michael Zuniga and Stepson Issac Fox; grandchildren, Matthew and Shelly. As well as great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Nancy J Fox Zuniga, parents Jesse R Zuniga Sr and Rose Zuniga, brothers Tony and Steve Zuniga, aunts Viola Ochoa and Josie Solis. and uncle Robert Ochoa.
Jesse courageously battled with cancer and other medical issues, facing every challenge with unwavering determination and resilience.
His presence will be deeply missed at family gatherings, in phone calls, texts, sports debates, Michigan and Cowboys games, and in all the ways He showed his love and support. He found joy in his Catholic faith, religion more than words can express! 🙏 He also enjoyed music, event planning, dancing, and literature. He loved his home college football team the University of Michigan Wolverines " GO Blue" and the Dallas Cowboys, and Dallas Mavericks.
His humor, prayers, and unmistakable sound of his laughter will remain forever in the hearts of those who loved him.
