Jimmie Lou Cotton Houser and I were best friends from 7th grade at New Hope school through Jacksonville High School where we graduated in 1951. Jimmie was my matron of honor at my wedding to Wayne Gregory in 1957.  We ate at the Big Apple in Ft. Worth afterward the wedding.  We lived together with Peggy for awhile then I moved on but Jimmie, Peggy and I were friends from then on  Mary took my place and I think someone else.  But Jimmie kept in touch with me and all her friends and relatives. I think of that song CRY ME A RIVER when I think of her being gone even though I know she is free of pain now.  She will be missed

I've known Jimmie since 7th grade.  We were best friends.   We lived together when we moved to Dallas. She was the matron of honor at my wedding. I've enjoyed getting together with our old friends over the years at Jimmie and Everett's home.

Jimmie and I were friends from Jacksonville High School. We lived together and worked in Dallas in 1952 & 1953.  After that, we were friends through the years.  Jimmie loved all her friends.

She was the best friend anyone could have, and I am going to miss her very much.

She loved her family very much.

Jimmie and I met in 1951 @ Tyler Commercial College.  I noticed right away that she had a great smile and a wonderful sense of humor.  I knew then that
we would be friends for life.  After graduation, we moved to Dallas and both worked for the same company.  We also lived in the same boarding house until we, plus two other young ladies, moved into a new 2 bedroom apartment.  So many good memories of living and working together over the years will always include sweet and lovable Jimmie.

In recent years, Jimmie and Everett opened their home to all of us to come and spend an entire weekend together, once or twice a year, where we reminisced of days gone by.  We would talk, eat, play games, watched videos of their children's weddings, looked @ pictures, etc.  Three things Jimmie was so very pround of were her husband, her children, and her grandchildren.  May you all know she loved you very much.  May you all know also that our prayers are with you during this time.  Jimmie has gone to her heavenly home where she has no pain, paralysis, or sorrow.  May God give you peace and comfort in knowing your loved one is walking the shores of Galilee with her
best friend, Jesus.

Jimmie and I have been close friends since our teens.  She was fun loving and very loyal to her family and friends.  She loved life and didn't let her medical problems get her down.  She was so proud of her family and spoke of them often.  I spent many happy times @ her home.  She will be missed by all of us who knew and loved her.  Her family will be in our prayers.

That old adage "You can choose your friends but are stuck with your relatives" 
Did not hold true to Jimmie & I. We were related but we were the best of friends!!!!!   We raised our kids together! WE celebrated our Kids birthday together as well as our own.So many wonderful memories!!!!!   You will be missed!!!  I know you are running in the streets of Heaven!!!God has blessed us by having you in our lives!!!!!! Margie & Don

Jimmie  Lou was a close friend of my cousin Barbara, and that was our first
meeting.  We became friends and even were classmates in a class at the Lon Morris College.  Then our friendship was renewed years later when I met her again in a Weight Watchers Meeting in Dallas.  Her childrens' principal was retiring in Dallas, and since I was a principal she really pumped me as to who they would be sending to their school. I assured her it would be the best available principal since it was the largest elementary school inthe district!  Little did I know at that point, I was going to be sent to her school.  She accused me of telling her they would be sending the best because I knew I was going to be the one!  So I will always remember Jimmie Lou because  there were so many times we were together with other friends.  We had to push Barbara's Daddy's car to get it  started but, J.L. and I were always good pushers because we liked to cruise!  Goodbye old friend!

My beloved Aunt Jimmie - so many wonderful memories of growing up together with your family that bring a smile to my face.  How sad I am to lose this precious woman that has a deep and meaningful connection to my life.  Thank you Lord for the happiness that fills me when I think of her.  I will miss you Aunt Jimmie.  I love you.
