Jo Ann Milstead Flores, age 82 passed away on Sunday January 5, 2020 surrounded by her family in Plano, Texas. Jo Ann was born Wednesday October 27, 1937 in Ramer, Tennessee to Luner Belle Milstead and Herman Neal Milstead.
She grew up in Selmer, Tennessee with her younger brother Roger Milstead and later moved to Texas when she was a young child.
She earned her GED and then went on receive her license in Cosmetology. She owned her own Beauty Salon for a few years. She worked over 10 years at Glidden Paints and then several years at Sears Logistics.
She was married to James Flores in 1956 and they were happily married for 43 years until his passing in March of 1999. Together they had 4 amazing sons, which gave her 10 beloved grandchildren and 4 precious great-grandchildren.
Jo Ann's favorite things to do when she wasn't with her family was to read, play Bingo and going to the Casino. She loved to dance to Neil Diamond, Johnny Cash and Cher. You could often find her sitting in her favorite chair watching The Price is Right, Wheel of Fortune, and the Young and the Restless. She was a big fan of the Dallas Mavericks and Dallas Cowboys.
Her family will fondly remember her for her little sayings; "You hide and watch", "These people just blow my mind!", "Oh well Hell!", and "I will have a #5 at Whataburger with Jalapeno & Bacon". Her favorite line to say goodbye was "Be careful and I love you".
She was a faithful follower of Christ.
Jo Ann Milstead Flores will be greatly missed by many.
Jo Ann is survived by; son Tim Flores; son Steve Flores; daughter-in-law Judy Flores; son Scott Flores; daughter-in-law Anne Flores; son Brad Flores; and daughter-in-law Tiffany Flores; grandson Mark Flores, grandson Jason Flores, granddaughter Ashley Duran, grandson Chris Flores, granddaughter Amy Flores, grandson Ryan Flores, granddaughter Cami Flores, granddaughter Kenley Prado, grandson Nelson Prado, granddaughter Jessica Flores, great grandchild Madison, great grandchild Caleb, great grandchild Kelsey and great grandchild Kyle.
Jo Ann was preceded in death by her husband James Flores; father Herman Neal Milstead and mother Luner Belle Milstead; brother Roger Milstead.
A viewing and visitation for Jo Ann will be held Sunday, January 12, 2020 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Sparkman - Crane Funeral Home, 10501 Garland Road, Garland, Texas. A funeral service will occur Sunday, January 12, 2020 at 2:00 PM.
