He was born on May 16, 1957, in Waxahachie, Texas, to Doris Gulley and Richard Harris and graduated from Arkansas State University.
He was a talented and creative floral designer and event planner. His family and friends will always remember him as a witty, caring, intelligent person, and he will be missed by the many lives he touched.
Joel is survived by his life partner of 36 years, Buddy Mullino; mother, Doris Gulley; brother, Tony Henderson; sisters, Debbie Smith and Cyndy Apricena; son, Justin Winchester; step-daughter, Magan Mullino Schain; numerous grandchildren, nieces, and nephews; as well as many treasured friends whom he considered family.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Joel's name to The Resource Center (myresourcecenter.org).
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
