John Thomas "Tommy" Cain was born Feb. 24, 1930 on Haskell Avenue in Dallas, Texas, to parents Johnnie Russell and Irma W. (nee Thompson) Cain. He attended Dallas schools, including Woodrow Wilson High School. He served in the U.S. Army in Japan in the 1950s and worked for Texas Instruments in Richardson for many years. Tommy was adept at building and tinkering with things and built an entire house with his own hands. He was the father of four children, four grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his sisters Dot and Geraldine. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Lake Pointe Church Firewheel at 1201 E.
