It was the first Friday of the month in June on the 7th day that John Michael Hernandez passed away in his sleep in his childhood home. John Michael’s life began at Methodist Hospital in Dallas, Texas on October 27th, 1981. Being the first-born child to John and Rosie Hernandez. He was also the first male born Hernandez on his paternal side. He was a difficult potty trainer but that did not mean much later in life, as he excelled in everything else he set his mind to.
In his primary years he was baptized at St. Cecilia’s Church and later attended parochial elementary at St. Elizabeth of Hungary. There he began creating a roster of lifetime long friendships. He also did what any good old catholic boy would do, and he signed up to serve the Lord as an alter server. He played all the sports he could and collected as many uniforms and sets of sports equipment as he could. Any way to make his parents invest in him and they loved to do it.
After elementary he attended Bishop Dunne Catholic High School from 1996-2000. While enrolled, he excelled in academics and sports. He pitched on his baseball team and decided to play soccer as well. He grew to become a socialite of his class and never met a stranger within his class. Four years flew by, and he was accepted into the University of Texas at Austin. There he joined a fraternity and continued his venture in expanding his friendship circle. The Longhorn life did not fully pan out as expected, and he returned to Dallas to end up landing an amazing opportunity to work at Neiman Marcus. One thing he had mastered at that point was meeting people and networking.
This was the beginning of his social networking and John Michael had managed to pick up a hobby of djing. Not only did he DJ for fun, but he had found a way to make this is primary income. He played for several popular and exclusive venues in the large city of Dallas. John Michael was in his prime and he was meeting people of all walks of life. He did not set any limits to what he did. He played for friend’s childrens birthdays and daddy daughter dances, 60th birthdays, weddings, and even his mother’s church events. He lived for those nights. He filled people’s hearts with his music and it was his passion. He touched a lot of people with his heart of gold and he will never be forgotten by those that were lucky enough to experience him.
John Michael is survived by his father ,John Manuel Hernandez, and his mother Rosalinda “Rosie” Hernandez. He is also survived by his younger sister, Suanne Marie Hernandez and younger brother, Joshua Andrew Hernandez.
