John Marcus Mays, 77 of Wills Point, Texas, went to be with his Lord Sunday morning, February 25th, 2018, at Baylor Hospital. John was the son of John Thomas Mays and Marjorie Alta Grogan Mays, and the brother to Ann Miles of Forney, Texas. John devoted 54 years as husband to Linda Mae Mays, his one life-long love, and was the father of four sons and the grandfather of eight. He served his nation selflessly for 58 years, with six years in the US Naval Reserve, 35 years in the City of Dallas as a police officer, a sergeant, and a Master Peace Officer, as well as 17 years as a bailiff for Dallas County. John always hoped to recover and serve his fellow citizens further, but the Lord had other plans and called him home. He left us too soon, but we value the time we had with this honorable man. He will be remembered, loved, and missed always.
