John Laughlin McDonell Jr. passed away at the age of 63 on the morning of December 22, 2012. John was a lifelong Dallas resident and was born on June 30, 1949 to the parents of John Laughlin Sr. & Eva Madge McDonell.
He attended Jesuit College Preparatory and was a graduate of UNT. He embarked on a long career in sales and was currently working for Classic Floors.
John married Joan (Hopkins) McDonell February 14th, 1986. They have resided in North Dallas for the last 26 years. John was a faithful man with a love for history and his country. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed sailing in his earlier years.
John is preceded in death by his parents and son Jonathan Luke McDonell. He is survived by his devoted wife, many loving nieces and nephews, and cousins. Although he will be missed, we know he is rejoined with God in eternal life.
Funeral & burial services are to be held on Thursday December 27th 12:00 noon at Sparkman Hillcrest Funeral Home.
