

John Howard, Born November 11, 1928 in Tulsa Oklahoma to Clyde Nolen Ray and Fay Price Ray, went to be with this Lord on February 10, 2023. After graduating from high school John joined the U.S. Marine Corps and served in the Military Police on Guam Island in the Asiatic Pacific upon discharge, John enrolled at S.M.U. and while attending S.M.U. he met and married the love of his life Jewell Cantrell Ray his wife of 65 years. John was called to active duty in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. Also, during his time at S.M.U. he started his twenty-year career with Ford Motor Company as a supervisor of Industrial Relations over employment, labor relations, and training. Before, receiving his B.B.A in 1954 two daughters, Cheryl Ann and Catherine Jean were born to Jewell and John. After Ford closed its Dallas assembly plant in 1970 John joined Dresser Industries as an Industrial Relations Manager, P &M Manufacturing Division for the next sixteen plus years. John was a member of Phi Delta Theta, life member of Texas Association of Business, American Legion, and Eastern Hills Country Club where he played many years.
John was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Dorothy Ray Ames; beloved wife, Jewell Ray; Son-in-law, Brad Wright
Survived by, Daughters, Cheryl Franklin and husband Ken, Catherine Wright; 6 grandchildren and seven great-granddaughters; brother, James N Ray; sister, Janet Pay Ledwitz and husband Paul.
A graveside service for John will be held Monday, February 20, 2023 from 10:30 AM to 10:45 AM at Dallas Ft worth National Cemetery, 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, TX 75211.
