Jose was born in Ciudad Juarez on February 3, 1966, to Jose Antonio Perez and Rosa Maria Veloz. He attended Bowie High School in El Paso, Texas. Jose worked as a custodian for many years. He enjoyed cook outs surrounded by family and friends, listening to music, telling stories, and making those around him laugh with his jokes.
His most brilliant legacy lies in his ability to cheer those around him. He will always be remembered for his timely jokes, his captivating stories and the genuine happiness that emanated. A true warrior and strong until the end, he taught us resilience by example. His light, his laughter and his strength will last forever in the hearts of all those who had the privilege of loving him.
Jose is preceded in death by his dad, Jose Antonio Perez, his sister, Maria Julia Veloz, and his nephew, Johnny Perez.
Jose is survived by his son, Gabriel Sanchez and his wife Karina Sanchez, his daughter Ashley Ann Norton Perez and husband John Travis Holland, his seven grandchildren, one great grandchild, mom, Rosa Maria Perez, siblings Gustavo Perez, Maria Perez, Luz Perez, Alfredo Perez, Virginia Perez, Francisco Perez, and Alejandra Perez, fourteen nieces and nephews, and other family and friends.
