

In Loving Memory of Josefa Mederos, a devoted servant of our Lord Jesus Christ, entered into eternal rest on December 7, 2025. She lived her life with reverence and faith, always guided by her love for God and her compassion for others. She was known for her gentle spirit, her steadfast prayers, bible studies and reading and her trust in the Lord. She enjoyed listening to hymnals, classical music and sermons. She touched many lives with her kindness and love.
Josefa was born on November 20, 1928, in Santa Cruz del Sur, Cuba, to Eduardo Arostegui and Josefa de la O. Her family moved to Camaguey, Cuba, following a devastating Category 5 hurricane on November 9, 1932, that obliterated the town of Santa Cruz del Sur with a 20 foot wall of water leading to thousands of fatalities and extreme destruction. It became the deadliest storm in Cuban history. She continued life and studies included chemistry / pharmaceuticals. She was united in marriage to Hector on December 21, 1957, and this year, 2025, would have marked their 68th wedding anniversary. Their enduring love remains an inspiration to all who knew them.
Josefa was preceded in death by beloved husband Hector, her parents and siblings, Heberto, Hernilda, Angela, Cristina, Diego, Luis, Eduardo, Alicia, Raquel, and granddaughter, Erica Alicia Prablek. She is survived by her children Diana, Efraim and wife, Connie, and grandchildren Marc, Kristi, Michael, Efraim Jr., Katherine, Zoe, nieces and nephews who will continue to cherish her memory and honor her example of devotion
