He was born in Dallas on October 17, 1942 to Charles Vincent Emmett and Pauline Bono Emmett. He worked in the family grocery store growing up. He graduated from Jesuit High School in 1960 and then went on to earn a BA from the University of Texas at Austin in 1964. He served in the Army Reserves. He was a small business owner and entrepreneur who excelled at investing. He enjoyed playing golf, the company of friends and family, especially his grandchildren.
He is survived by his daughters Elizabeth Emmett-Mattox and husband Steve of Niwot, CO, and Sarah Emmett Grey and husband Eric of Athens, TX. His grandchildren are Emma Grey, Adrian Emmett-Mattox, Rachel Grey and Owen Grey.
He is also survived by sister Charlene Emmett Volpert, brother Sam Emmett, sister Rosalie Emmett Griffin and brother Charles Vincent Emmett Jr., eight nieces and two nephews.
Family will receive visitors at 1:15pm at Calvary Hill Mausoleum North Chapel on Friday, June 12, 2015. Mass will be celebrated at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Jesuit Scholarship Fund.
