

Joy Joan Price (JoJo) was born July 27, 1927 in Bassett, Arkansas, the third daughter of six girls born to Hilliard and Lorena Smith. She passed away July 30, 2013. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Henry Paschal Price II - affectionately known as ‘Poppy,’ and her sisters, Bobbie Ola Smith and Jennie Daniel. Joan was a long-time member of the Highland Oaks Church of Christ.
She is survived by her son, Henry Price III (Hank) and his wife Martha; daughter Susan Thompson and her husband Larry; sisters June McGraw and her husband Raymond, Tommie Turpin, Jimmie Carolyn Fowler and her husband Bill and Jennie’s husband Glover (Nookie). Mrs. Price is also survived by 5 grandchildren – Jennifer Oualline, Henry Price IV and wife Rita, and Jason and wife Charla, Taylor and Clayton Thompson; and 6 great-grandchildren –Laura Leigh, Anna, Ethan and Lillie Joy Oualline and Tanner and Jake Thompson; and many loving nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Pallbearers for the service are grandsons Henry Price, Jason Thompson and Clayton Thompson, grandson-in-law Jeff Oualline and nephews Robert Daniel and Mark Turpin. Honorary pallbearers are brothers-in-law Nookie Daniel and Bill Fowler.
The family agrees that two scriptures most appropriately characterize the life of our JoJo:
1 Corinthians 13:4-8 Love is patient, love is kind and is not jealous, love does not brag, and is not arrogant, does not seek its own, is not provoked, does not take into account a wrong suffered, does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth, bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails.
Philippians 4:8 Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.
