

Joyce Ruth Casella, 98, of Dallas, Texas passed away Tuesday, July 8, 2025. She was born January 20, 1927, in Dallas, Texas to Gordon Newton and Ruth Pearl Cole. Joyce was raised in Dallas, Texas and graduated from Dallas High School in 1944. She married Louis J. Casellas in 1945 and the couple had four children. She was an exceptional wife, mother and homemaker.
Her family and friends will always remember her as a true lady of grace, style, beauty and charm; a woman of character, intelligence and strength whose presence graced those around her. Fun-loving and adventurous, she didn't shy away from innocent mischief with friends and family. She was kind, witty and loving to all those around her. She had an especially warm spot for those who were troubled or in need: babies, puppies and kittens.
She is preceded in death by her spouse, Louis J. Casella; parents, Gordon Newton and Ruth Pearl Cole; and nephew, Erik Newton Cole.
She is survived by her brother, Robert N. Cole; children, Gail Swift, John A. Casella, Renee M. Casella, Gina L. O'Brien; grandchildren, Brian H. Blair, Mark J. Blair; grandchildren, Declan Blair, Nina Blair.
In her spare time, Joyce enjoyed good food, good company and good music, especially jazz. She loved to shop and travel, especially going to the beach. She enjoyed sewing, creative crafts and home decorating.
A visitation for Joyce will be held on Friday, July 18, 2025, from 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM at Gonzalez Funeral Home, 3050 N. Stemmons Freeway, TX 75247. Following the visitation there will be an interment from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Laurel Land Funeral Home & Laurel Land Memorial Park, 6300 S R L Thornton Fwy, Dallas, TX 75232.
