Judy Mudan Chen Huang (nee Chen Mu Dan) was born to Wang Chen Zhu Mei (mother) and Chen Shi Shi (father) on April 8, 1947 in Taiwan, where she grew up with her four brothers. Judy passed away on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at the age of 76 .
She attended Tamkang University with a bachelor’s degree in English. Judy Mudan emigrated to the U.S. in 1981 with her three young children and ex-husband and called Rapid City, South Dakota as her first home in the U.S. In the next two decades, she would raise her children in Naperville, Illinois and Fremont, California.
Judy Mudan was a devoted mother and grandmother. She was often found outside in her beloved yard, planting trees and tending diligently to her garden. She was a voracious learner who continued to sharpen her language skills even in her final days.
Judy Mudan is survived by three brothers; daughters, Lucy Shenting Huang (Brian Crowhurst), Julie Hsinghuei Huang Lim (Edmund Lim); son, Daniel Bowei Huang (Leslie Chen); grandchildren Lana Crowhurst, Luke Crowhurst, Evan Huan, Amelia Huang, Eric Huang, Katy Lim, and Kyle Lim.
