

Julian Simons (who went by and was best known as “Chuck”) was born on March 29, 1926 in Sweetwater, Texas. After graduating from high school, he joined the US Army. He had several tours of duty within the US and internationally during his military career. One of his last assignments, he served on diplomatic duty in Taiwan from 1963 to 1965 as a Nike missile advisor. He retired from the Army in 1966 as a Master Sergeant after 22 years of service. He then taught ROTC in the Dallas Independent School District. He retired from teaching after 20 years of service. He was married to his wife Inge for 64 years. He enjoyed dancing and traveling with his wife, and spending time with the many wonderful friends he had. He was also a passionate baseball fan. Julian passed away on August 31, 2014 at the age of 88. He will be dearly missed by all who loved and admired him. Julian is survived by his wife, Inge Simons, son Steven and his wife Laurie, son Ronald (Ron), and two granddaughters Sandra and Angela.
The Viewing will be at the Sparkman-Crane Funeral Home on Sunday, September 7, 2014 from 2:00 pm until 5:00 pm located at 10501 Garland Road, Dallas, Texas 75218. The Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, September 8, 2014 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3030 Gus Thomasson Road, Dallas, Texas 75228. The Burial Service will be at 2:00 pm on Monday, September 8, 2014 at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery located at 2000 Mountain Creek Pkwy, Dallas, Texas 75221. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any donations be made to St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3030 Gus Thomasson Road, Dallas, Texas 75228.
