Karen Thornhill Wilkerson

Karen Thornhill Wilkerson passed away in LaQuinta, CA early Sunday am on March 1, 2026. Karen was born in Dallas, TX on October 3, 1947, to Mary Sansone and O P Thornhill. She attended St. Thomas school then went to Woodrow Wilson High School where she graduated in 1965.

Karen married Rick Wilkerson on February 28, 1974. They had just celebrated their 52nd wedding anniversary. Karen had been working with her husband Rick for their company Madison Development.

Karen had so many interests, it is hard to pick. Cooking was her favorite pastime. She was a fantastic cook and was always willing and wanting to pass her cooking knowledge and secrets on to anyone. She also enjoyed our family genealogy which she had researched and recorded going back a couple of centuries. Not only did she record our family, but she had also started the research on spouses as well.

Karen Wilkerson is survived by her husband Rick Wilkerson, her two children Matt Wilkerson and Stacy Wilkerson Wade married to James Brian Wade. She was also loved by her grandchildren. Matt's children are Ariana and Austin Wilkerson. Stacy's children are Chistian Wade married to Katherine Zehm and Jacob Wade.

Not only her immediate family but there is a tremendous number of nieces and nephews that Karen has a fantastic family bond with. Our family strength and dedication are what Karen always lived by which is why we believe she was one of the strongest rocks of our family.
