

Katy Rose Skrodzki, 99 years old, passed away peacefully with family at her bedside on Tuesday, September 19th, 2017. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ted Skrodzki, daughter Cindy Louise Phillips, and her great-grandson Harrison Stokes Smith.
Katy was born in 1918 and raised by Merritt and Rosa Day in Electra Texas. After graduating from Electra High in 1935, she attended and graduated from Draughn’s Business College in Wichita Falls. She went to work at Sheppard Field Army Air Corp Headquarters. Her first day of work was the day after Pearl Harbor. While working on base she met and married Ted Skrodzki of Chicago, Illinois. After the war was over, they resided in Dallas where they raised their five children.
She is survived by her three daughters: Julie Skinner, and husband Bob; Bonnie McMahon, and husband Hugh; Trudy Lee, and husband Bob; and her son Ted Skrodzki, and wife Mary Rose. She is also survived by seven grandchildren: Robby Skinner, and wife Addie; Kristi Vanderwoude, and husband Brian; Lauren Rogers, and husband Jeff; Kimberly Smith, and husband Stokes, Ryan Lee, TJ and Amy Skrodzki. Seven great-grandchildren: Katy, Emily, and James Vanderwoude; Davis and Sarah Skinner; Frances Smith, and Jeffrey Rogers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Christ the King Catholic Church, 8017 Preston Road, Dallas, TX, on Saturday, September 23rd at 10:00am. Entombment will immediately follow at Calvary Hill Cemetery in Dallas, TX.
