Lana Carol Cardella Lilly

Lana was born in Dallas, Texas on October 26, 1948 to John Henry Cardella and Gladys Lorraine Clearman. She graduated from Hillcrest High School in Dallas, and attended North Texas State University. Lana was married to Lawrence Lilly on November 23, 1974; they were married almost 49 years.

Lana’s passion was her children and grandchildren, and she reveled in being the best wife, mom, and grandmother ever! She enjoyed Bible Study Fellowship for many years and was very active in the Lord’s work. Later in life, Lana developed an interest in, and a love for horses, and very much enjoyed trail riding, training and tending to her three horses.

Lana is preceded in death by her father, John Cardella; her mother Gladys “Pig” Cardella; mother-in-law Janet Lilly, father-in-law Lawrence “Bud” Lilly, sister-in-law Vicky Lilly Brown, and nephew James C Weldon Jr.

Lana is survived by Lawrence Lilly, her husband of 49 years of Lindale, Texas; brother Sammie Lee "Buddy” Cardella and sister-in-law Linda Cardella of San Leon, Texas. Sons Chad Laurence, Cory Laurence, and Kyle Lilly and daughter in law Robin Shorter Lilly, all of the Dallas area. Grandchildren Riley Laurence of Norman, Oklahoma; Peyton Laurence Fulwider and Megan Laurence of Allen, Texas. Colton Laurence and Olivia Laurence of McKinney, Texas. Great grandchildren Amelia Fulwider and Jack Fulwider of Allen, Texas. Nieces Shelly Cameron of Clyde, Texas; Jennifer Cardella, Jessica Greenert, and Lana Jo Hare, all of San Leon, Texas. Nephews John Weldon of Pointe Venture, Texas and John Cardella of San Leon, Texas.

A celebration of Lana’s life will be held at the Allen Historic Christian Church, 450 E. Saint Mary Dr, Allen, Texas at 3pm on Saturday, September 23, 2023.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Lana’s name may be made to The Pegasus Project, PO Box 26, Ben Wheeler, Texas 75754. This is a horse rescue operation run by our friend – they helped to re-home Lana’s horses when that became necessary.
