He was a brother to LaDelma and Jim. He attended Urban Park High School in Dallas, Texas. Lee Roy married the love of his life, Pattye Ruth Clark in 1946, and together they had two daughters, Deborah Kay and Teresa Ann. He worked as a home builder and was one of a dozen builders who built the community of Buckner Terrace from 1960-1980. Lee Roy was a lifelong carpenter and woodworker. There was nothing he couldn't build. One of his favorite places was his "shop" that he built in 1963 where he spent countless hours with his grandchildren drinking root beer and eating Snickers or Pay Day candy bars. He was a deacon and servant-leader of his churches in Pleasant Grove and Rockwall and passed down his faith through generations.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, his cherished wife and his much loved son-in-law, Pat Hodges.
Throughout his life, Lee Roy was blessed to be surrounded by an adoring family he treasured. He was a loving husband to his "Pattye Ruth" for 73 years. He was a devoted "Daddy" to his girls Debbie Cope of Royse City, and Teresa Hodges of Rockwall. He was "Granddaddy" to Marianne Villanueva of Hermosa Beach, CA; Leeann Wells of Rockwall; Aaron Cope of Cypress; Greg Hodges and Katie Larey of Rockwall; and to his nine beloved great-grandchildren.
