

Lena Carmello Meche
Lena Carmello Meche, affectionately known as “Granny” to all who knew her, passed away peacefully at her home in Dallas, Texas on October 20, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was 94 years old.
Lena was born in Cheneyville, Louisiana, to John and Isabelle Carmello. She was a woman of deep faith, strong spirit, and endless compassion. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, she spent her life caring for others and creating a home filled with love, laughter, and warmth.
Lena was a faithful member of the Catholic Church and lived her values each day through kindness and service to others. For many years, she traveled alongside her husband, Adam, supporting him in his sandblasting business before settling at home to raise their children. Her family was her greatest joy, and she never stopped nurturing and guiding them with her gentle heart and unwavering love.
She is survived by her daughter, Drusella Wolfe (Ollie); her son, Zeno Meche (Michelle); grandchildren Reggie McDaniel (Angie), Misty Wolfe, Megan Henry (Jesse), and Morgan Meche (Anthony); 12 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters, JoAnn Lipoma and Ruby Hernandez.
Lena was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 52 years, Adam Meche; her infant son, William, who was born and passed away the same day; six sisters; and two brothers.
To all who knew her, she was more than family—she was “Granny.” Her warmth and generosity touched countless lives, and her legacy of love will live on in the hearts of everyone blessed to have known her.
