

Leslie Kay Rice, who was born on July 14, 1945, in Oklahoma City, OK, to the late William Bowman Wainwright and Ethel Marie Stebbins Wainwright, passed away on March 7, 2010, in Dallas. She spent her youth in Muskogee, Oklahoma and was a proud graduate of Muskogee Central High School Class of 1963. Leslie was a member of the Iota Alpha chapter of Chi Omega at SMU, and a graduate of Oklahoma University in 1967. Leslie was a dedicated mother and talented at all things artistic. As a commissioner for Lake Highlands Soccer Association for many years, she dedicated her time and worked diligently to ensure that all children had an opportunity to participate in youth soccer. She is survived by her three children, Christopher Rice, Wendi Polvado and husband John, and Kevin Rice and wife Beverly; three grandchildren, Nicholas, Chloe and Ainsley Rice; brother, Jeffrey Wainwright and wife Teresa of Michigan; two nephews, Gregory and Justin Wainwright; Great Aunt Ruth Stebbins; cousins, Ruth Marie Waller, Roger Stebbins and his wife Mary, Christie Cade and her husband Cash and their sons, Myles Waller and his children, Mark Waller and his son, Carrie Waller, Stacy Stebbins, Stephanie Stebbins, John Stebbins and his wife Leslie along with their children, and numerous beloved cousins from the Wainwright and Bowman families. A Celebration of Leslie's Life will be held at 4:00 pm, Saturday, March 13, 2010, at Sparkman/Hillcrest Northwest Hwy. Chapel. Her remains will be interred with her parents in Muskogee, Oklahoma. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lake Highlands Soccer Association, P.O. Box 38353, Dallas, TX 75238 or to the Alzheimer’s Association of America.
