Lila Beese Graham of Dallas, Texas died November 27, 2024. She was born in Steele County, Deerfield Township, Minnesota on March 19, 1922 and grew up in Waterville, Minnesota. She was the only child of Fred and Edna Beese. Lila graduated from Hamline University, St. Paul, Minnesota on June 5th, 1944 where she received the degree of Bachelor of Fine Arts. She worked as a schoolteacher prior to her marriage.
She was married to Robert E. Graham on September 24, 1947 at Waterville, Minnesota.
Lila and Robert lived in New Orleans, Louisiana and Greeley, Colorado before settling down in Dallas, Texas in 1961. She was preceded in death by Robert who died in 2001. They were married for 53 years.
She was a lifelong member of Lake Highlands United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed all kinds of crafts and excelled at knitting and crocheting and was an avid gardener. She enjoyed watching Dallas Cowboy football and Texas Ranger baseball games. She had a particular fondness for cats and had three as pets.
She is survived by son and daughter-in-law Lee Walter Graham and Arlene Corson Graham; son Bruce Robert Graham and Christy Payne; and son and daughter-in-law Brian Leonard Graham and Robin Aiken Graham and their daughter Erin Graham.
Graveside services will be held 1:30 pm, Tuesday, December 10, 2024 at the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery where Robert is buried.
