Linda Kay Burgess

Linda Kay Burgess passed away to be with the Lord on February 2, 2025. She was born June 23, 1948 in Dallas, Texas to J.C. Dean and Ruth Beach Chase Dean. She grew up in Dallas and graduated from W.W. Samuell High School (’66) and went on to graduate from UT Arlington with a degree in Math along with a graduate degree in Accounting (’72). She married David Burgess on January 31, 1969 and had 56 years together.

Linda lived life believing she could accomplish anything with hard work and determination. She rose through the ranks of a male dominated industry to become a VP of Accounting for an oil company where she worked for 30 years. She taught her children the value of independence and love. She was most at home with a house full of family, friends, and country music.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents, J.C. and Ruth Dean; sister, Patsy Ruth Rogers; and brothers, J.C. Dean, Jr. and John Dean.

She is survived by her husband, David H. Burgess, son, Brennan B. Burgess and wife, Kim; daughter, Brenna B. Coley and husband, Aaron; grandchildren, Logan, Ella, Everly, Emma, and Emily; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

A visitation will be held Monday, February 10, 2025 from 4 P.M. to 8 P.M. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, February 11, 2025 from 2 P.M. to 3 P.M. with committal to follow at Grove Hill Funeral Home, 3920 Samuell Blvd. Dallas, Texas 75228
