Born June, 14, 1944 in Dallas, TX to Lloyd and Lenore Bowles Sr., Lloyd S. Bowles Jr. (Shelly) graduated from Highland Park High School and went on to study at Southern Methodist University where he obtained BBA, MBA, and Juris Doctorate degrees. He started as Assistant General Counsel and rose to the role of President of Dallas Federal Savings and Loan Association over a 15 year period. He held key leadership roles in the community as a board member for the United Way of Metropolitan Dallas, American Red Cross, The Salvation Army and many other prestigious organizations. All of his worldly accomplishments pale in comparison to the importance of the relationship Shelly had with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. A man blessed with immense talents and wisdom, he spent the majority of his life as a sole-proprietor estate planning attorney where he served key members of the community as well as countless ministries providing leadership and service generously. Everyone that knew him can attest to his passion for sharing the grace, love, and sufficiency of Jesus Christ. As a vessel for the Lord, the desire of his heart was to seek Christ and proclaim Him to all those God brought across his path. Survived by his wife Joanne, two sons Lloyd Bowles III and John Graham, their two wives, and four grandchildren, His love for the Lord overflowed to his family, friends, and loved ones. Shelly was promoted to glory on December 2nd 2014 and memorial services will be at Park Cities Baptist Church in Ellis Chapel at 1:00pm on Friday, December 5th. In lieu of flowers, we suggest making donations to Park Cities Baptist Church.
