Lucero Rosenda Vega was born in Dallas, Texas. She passed away peacefully at her home on January 27, 2022 at the age of forty-four. Lucero was a medical assistant for over twenty-years. Lucero was blessed with a loving husband and four children.
Lucero is survived by her parents; Francisca Caracheo and Gonzalo Rojas; husband of twenty-five years, Adolfo Vega; her children, Gustavo, Yvette, Adam and Mila Vega; four sisters, Juana, Monica, Mayra & Alma; several beloved nieces and nephews. She is preceded by her brother, Gonzalo Rojas; grandparents María Trinidad & José Socorro Caracheo; Josefina Pescador & Antero Rojas.
She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1995. She received her medical certificate from PCI Health Training Center in 2004. As a medical assistant several of her co-workers became her closest friends. As lead medical assistant supervisor she was known affectionately as Lucy. She was often seen comforting others, optimistic, warm & bringing laughter wherever it was needed. Lucy’s former employer stated, “She was amazing at fostering relationships with patients. She was intuitive about what you needed without having to ask.” Her friends described her as someone they could always go to for advice. She was extremely loyal and caring. Many people who knew her will tell you they remember Lucy’s amorous smile & laughter. She carried these beautiful traits to her family and fostered them around anyone she knew. She was a devoted wife and mother that always placed her family above everything else. She was a loving daughter, sister, mother, aunt and friend. She absolutely loved spending quality time with her family. Lucy enjoyed traveling & vacationing with loved ones.
Lucero will always be remembered as a woman with selflessness, integrity, strength and courage. Shakespeare’s quote, “though she be little she is fierce” definitely applied to her. She exemplified persistence and navigated valiantly throughout her life. She protected and fought hard to live for everyone whom she cared deeply. Lucero is now our heavenly star that will light up the darkest skies. When the sun is nowhere to be found, look up, take a deep breath, and there she will be radiating her love.
“He counts the number of stars; He gives names to all of them. Great is our Lord and abundant in strength; His understanding is infinite” Psalms 147:4-5
