

Frances Lucille (West) Waters passed away on February 21, 2016. She was born on August 31, 1919 in Cooper, Texas to Eunice (Morgan) and John Emmett West. Graduated from Cooper High School and married her high school sweetheart, James Earl Waters, on July 24, 1940. They were married for 54 years before he passed away in 1994. She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister and five brothers. Lucille was a homemaker before returning to the workforce in 1957. She was office manager for Drs. Stephen W. Cobb and Hugh D. Murray for over 20 years before retiring in 1978. She was a 70+ year member of Cliff Temple Baptist Church where she served many years as Sunday School Department Secretary. She was a founding member of the F.U.N. Club, a well-known social club whose purpose was “Friendship, Unity and Nonsense”. Lucille held every office from President to Committee Chairman throughout the years of the club. She was also a member of the Oak Cliff Women’s Club, Lecture Luncheon, Garden Club and Book Review. Lucille was an accomplished seamstress who designed clothes for her daughters and granddaughters until age 75. She was also an outstanding hostess who entertained with flair. She loved sports and played tennis in her teen years, softball in her middle years and bowling from her 30’s until her middle 70’s. She played bridge up until a few months before her death. She is survived by daughters, Sharon Rigsbee and husband, Ken and Sheila Taylor and husband, Wayne. She has four grandchildren: Heather and Scott Rigsbee, Wendi Marik and husband, Kerry and Brooke Brune and husband, Juston; Seven great grandchildren: Thomas Kielman, Cade Gavranovic, Taylor Dawn, Juston Bryce and Kyndal Brune, Lexi and Dylan Marik.
